The Center for Wind Energy in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy is researching state properties with the potential for solar development.
The map above displays Department of Forestry Facilities, and DGIF Fish Hatcheries. Click on the site icon and click the zoom button at the lower left corner of the pop up box to zoom to the site.
-There are only a few of these sites which could be utilized for ground mount PV.
-Basemaps can be changed by selecting a new map from the basemap gallery.
-The legend can be displayed and layers can be switched on and off.
-Pop-up boxes show the attributes of the layer. Clicking on the small magnifyer icon in the pop-up window zooms you to that feature.
