Final Project

For your final project, you will solve a geographic problem or question of your choice using at least one open source GIS program or, if you are experienced with programming, you may choose to create a new feature or task for an open source GIS program. This project has two stages:

Stage one: The Proposal

Write a short proposal to your instructor. The proposal should include the following information:

• Your name, the class, the project title
• A description of the problem you want to solve, the question you want to answer, or the feature/task you wish to create
• The reason(s) you chose the project
• The software required (both open source and proprietary)
• A description of the process you will use to complete the project
• he expected deliverables (what you will turn in for a grade)

Email this proposal to your instructor. The instructor will provide feedback and tell you when you are ready for the next stage.

Stage two: The Project

You will complete the project as approved by your instructor.
